This Exmoor Blueface top is one of the fibers brought in for the UK Breeds Fiber Chemistry set that were milled by John Arbon Textiles, a small family-run mill in the UK that I had the pleasure of supporting by bringing some of their tops here for spinners to sample. My supplies of these tops are very limited.
Creamy white and extremely fluffy, the Exmoor Blueface's wool is of a medium softness that would be easy to turn into a light and airy single. The Exmoor Blueface breed is a cross between Exmoor Horn (a hill breed from north Devon) and Bluefaced Leicester sheep, and carries a lot of Bluefaced Leicester influence in its staple length and sturdiness while being a bit fluffier.
